United Way of Central Kentucky (UWCK) has announced the promotion of Andrea Hill to the position of Director of Development. In her new role, Hill succeeds Christa Shouse, who now serves as President of UWCK.
“Andrea’s nonprofit experience and passion for community outreach symbolize a new chapter in our commitment to creating community,” Shouse said. “I couldn’t ask for a better individual to succeed me in this role and we are excited to witness her dedication in furthering our mission and uplifting the communities we serve.”
Hill enters the role with 15 years of experience in nonprofit work. She began her tenure with UWCK in 2022, initially serving as Development Coordinator. Previous roles include Social Media Manager for The Haycraft in Elizabethtown, Assistant Editor for Elizabethtown Lifestyle Magazine and owner of The Other Pets Animal Rescue, a nonprofit exotic pet and farm animal rescue located in Hardin County and Kaiserslautern, Germany. In addition, Hill is the author of two published books.
“Stepping into the role of Director of Development is a dream come true,” Hill said. “It’s an opportunity to become even more active with the community, to continue spreading the word about UWCK and the incredible organizations we work with and to give back to my hometown and surrounding areas. I know it takes a village to bring about positive change and I’m humbled and honored to have the opportunity to be a part of that.”
